Prosecutor Xu Jia-sheng, investigating a drug-driving case from 2024, traces it back to a financial fraud ring from 2023 — and from a lead offered by one of the suspects, further back still, to a murder case from 1994. Following the thread, he tracks down the detective who originally worked that 1994 case, and together they piece apart the truth behind it. Every case referenced in this series is drawn from real events. The story is told through two perspectives — detective Li Zhi-yuan, born in 1965, and prosecutor Xu Jia-sheng, born in 1987 — unraveling the relationship between law and evil, between the causes of justice and its consequences. The world is not a straight line; light may not reach every hidden corner, but its source can shift. Justice arrives, eventually.
