The future reaches back to reshape the past. Some become heroes by chasing a belief across the course of their lives; others are born into it, fated to become heroes at the cost of the self. The first path demands the courage to fight; the second, the courage to carry the weight of it. Cao Bo-wei and the quantum lifeform Hai-shi cross paths while trying to stop a cosmic device from opening, and are swept together into a three-way war between the underworld, the establishment, and a fourth, unknown force. Amid the chaos, Hai-shi begins to awaken — teleportation, precognition, combat instincts surfacing one by one — and starts to sense another version of himself existing in a parallel timeline, the key to his own awakening. To find himself, he'll have to kill the other one. A trilogy spanning time, space, and quantum existence: Hero Awakening, Reborn in Hell, and The God Slayer's Record.
